About us…
Maritime Biodiesel Coop was founded in
2002. We are a volunteer based, non-profit
community co-operative. Our primary mission is
to provide our members and the public
with the technical expertise and resources
needed to create their own renewable bio-fuels.
Members of the Coop give workshops on biodiesel to university
students, public schools,
community groups, clubs, and conferences.
Coop members share knowledge on biodiesel production and help to
develop improved
production methods. We currently operated three
biodiesel mini-processing units, and
several Coop members are running biodiesel in
their vehicles.
Like any Coop, we are the sum of our members, but become more
than this as we
interact as a community to assist one another.
Maritime Biodiesel Coop encourages
members to become involved in the running of
the organization.
Our current Board of Directors consists of four members:
Amanda Dainow,
Alain Joseph, Leif Vernest, and Elenor Whidden.
