Keep an eye on this page to see what’s been happening with the Co-op!
Oct. 29 ’05 – The Oct. 28 workshop in St. Peter’s was a success. We met over coffee at Parker’s
Restaurant to give four new members a 1 hour ‘quick’ production and safety workshop.
We are working on a simple handout that will outline the production methods.
A link to the handout will be available soon!
Nov. 10 ’05 - Along with the Sierra Club of Canada and the Ecology Action Centre, we are hosting
a Biofuel Basics workshop that will cover biodiesel production and car conversions
for straight vegetable oil. The worhshop is scheduled for Saturday, 9 -4:30, Nov. 26,
and will be held at the Halifax North Library on Gottingen St. Admission is $10.
Jan. 30 ’06 - Biofuel Basics was a great success. We had a crowd of roughly 25 interested, well-
informed participants. Perry Everett did an on-the-spot Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO)
conversion for a 1992 VW Jetta. Even the police dropped by to say hello!
Things have been a little quiet with the Coop for the Holiday season, but we are getting
back in gear. Our Fuelin’ Around talk is up-coming this Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7pm, Spring
Garden Branch, Halifax Public Library…come check it out.
Some bad news. A car break-in on Oct 29 ’05 has left the coop without a pH meter.
